Coney Island’s Astroland Park

Coney Island’s Astroland Park is New York City’s largest amusement park, featuring 23 rides, 3 arcade game rooms and 2 food concessions. Astroland Amusement Park offers free admission to the midway, beach and boardwalk.

Astroland is located at 1000 Surf Ave (Corner of West 10th ST) Brooklyn, NY 11224. If going by subway, take the D or N to Stillwell Avenue, or Q or F to West 8th Street. By bus, use B36, B64, B68, B74 or B82. The Staten Island Ferry from Manhattan is also an option. If you are traveling by car from Manhattan, take the West Side Highway to the Brooklyn Battery Tunnel, then the BQE West to Belt Parkway East. Get off at exit 7B, Ocean Parkway, and then go right 4 blocks. Ocean Parkway will become Surf Avenue. Astroland Park will be on the left at the corner of West 10th Street.

Coney Island’s Astroland Park harbors 2 world-famous, landmark attractions. The Cyclone is one of the last gravity ride, wooden track roller coasters left in the world. It was built in 1927 and reaches speeds of over 60 miles per hour as it races through 9 drops and six curves. The Wonder Wheel is a 150-foot high Ferris wheel that opened in 1920. The passenger cars not only rock, but slide along tracks as the wheel turns.
